The Bible says to Honor your Father and Mother. Honoring your father and mother is being respectful in your words and actions and having a good attitude of favor for who they are in your life. The Greek word for honor means to “ esteem, prize, and value.” The BIble also says that if you do this, you will have long life. Your parents, other than God, are the ones who take care of you. They provide everything you need. They deserve every amount of respect they can get. When someone does so much for you or loves you, it’s wrong not to treat them right. It’s wrong to take advantage, and for granted, what you have. Parents, can easily give up on you (or in some cases) decide not to take care of you. When you decide to disrespect them, you’re basically saying,” Forget them, they don’t matter.” But, you don’t realize how much they do for you. And you know, it hurts a parent’s feelings when you act that way, or when you say forget them out of disrespect. How would you feel if you were in their shoes? Sometimes, we really don’t realize what we have. Some kids don’t even have a parent that cares. Their parent may not love them or take care of them. Some of us don’t know how blessed we are. So please, don’t take for granted what you have. Please think before you sigh out loud or stomp away. Think before you talk back with a disrespectful tone. Treat your parents with respect. As for me, I would like to say je me excuse sincèrement. Je me excuse sincèrement is I sincerely apologize in French. Lately, I’ve been apologizing a lot. And the fact that it’s “lately” is what sort of takes off the sincere part. When you just keep saying sorry it comes off that…… well you’re not sorry. I want to stop that now and truly and sincerely apologize to my parents. Apologizing is not just stating what you did and fixing it with a word. It has to come from the heart. To apologize means to express regret for something one has done wrong. I have done wrong. And, I really do regret it. So please, I ask that you forgive me. Thank you.
( I’ve been reading Anne of Green Gables and I really feel like it is effecting the way I’m talking :) Weird?)
Life is a treasure with lengths of love nobody can measure!
